——In the 1960s,
SPMC’s scientists foresaw the promising future of the Chinese automotive industry. With our knowledge and know-how in the precious metal industry, SPMC targeted the automotive catalytic industry as one of its new strategies for future development.
——In the 1970s,
SPMC’s scientists started automotive catalyst research and development despite the difficult and underdeveloped working conditions. SPMC is the catalytic pioneer in the Chinese automotive industry. We successfully developed catalyst for the “Hongqi” Red Flag vehicle, the first domestically produced Chinese passenger vehicles.
——During the 1980s,
SPMC’s scientists devoted their time to Catalyst research and development, and accumulated great expertise in catalytic technologies as well as achievements, and built up the strong foundation for China’s auto catalyst industry.
——In the 1990s,
SPMC conducted several national key projects as well as international cooperative projects. We developed our own patents and technologies, such as “Precious metal & Rare earth three way catalyst”, and set up the then leading-level pilot production line.
In the first decade of the 21st century,
SPMC accelerated the application of frontier catalytic technologies while developing the domestic market. We built the leading R & D and manufacturing platform in China and also established our own unique position in the Chinese catalytic industry, to become the supplier for dominant Chinese brands as well as foreign joint venture brands as well.
For the 2nd decade of 21st century,
SPMC is determined to become an international company. Looking to the future, with our innovative, open-minded and pragmatic culture, SPMC will certainly go further and achieve more. Ultimately, we are becoming increasingly an internationally recognized industry leader.
